I finally came to the horrible realization today that the thing I've been writing must be completely re-thought. Feh.

There are still things I love about it. Things that I know are "true." But I think I rushed to fit those things into a story...so I ended up with something like a few good items in a large box filled with foam peanuts. Time to dump out all the foam peanuts and go back to the good stuff. I always do this. I'm too impatient. Anyway, vowing to myself to stick with it and figure out what it's really about.

In better news, though, I got authors copies for my new book and I love all the pictures, especially the cover. Heh. Look at little Dexter in his pointy boots.

Even better, when I went to Amazon to get that link I discovered that I'd gotten some reviews for other books. This is the best review ever. It's for Web Sight, part of a series based on the Disney Channel Show "So Weird." A reader from North Carolina gives it 5 stars (woo-hoo!) and says: "Awesome plot and I have never read anything like it; well, except of course, the Harry Potter Series which is 1000 times better than this but that's besides the point. However, overall it is a good read."

ROTFL! Okay, I don't see much connection between Harry Potter and this book (Alan Rickman/Mackenzie Phillips; Wizard School/Rock Tour Bus...nope, I'm not seeing it), but still, isn't it great that the kid has enough taste to both appreciate the genius of my book (No snickering. In my lj I'm a genius!) and yet know that Harry Potter is a bit better by comparison? Okay, 1,000x better. But really, I think that's stretching it. Let's see JKR write a 17,000 word book based on a 22-minute show. Anyway, I love this review and I'm ready to get to work now. Right after I check NA...
