I don't think it's so much a question of drama, but of the definition of "larger and more significant." I don't think it can be disputed that the story of a whole family is a more varied canvas. But--though we haven't seen Book 7 yet--I sincerely doubt that any member of the Black family, or even all of them put together, are going to have as big an effect on the lives of everyone in the books as Harry will. That was the definition of "larger and more significant" that I was using. "More important," if you will.

I have to say that I'm going to be extremely cheesed off if it turns out that Dumbledore died for nothing just so that JKR could make a hero out of Regulus Black, though. The family already has one blood-traitor martyr/hero. *sulks*
