I really hope you're not suggesting that it's necessary to actively flirt with someone and "treat them like a girl/boy" to show that you're interested in them.
Butting in her, but that's certainly not my personal philosophy; but the way Rowling's portraying R/Hr, and indeed, all the romances in canon seems to have the opposite flaw: the romance is usually dependent on the boy's feelings, not the girls. Hermione (and Ginny, and Tonks, etc.) are apparently just waiting around for the guys to make the first move. The only women who are sexually aggressive in anyway are 'bad' or negatively portrayed (ugly, stupid) ones - from Pansy Parkinson, to the Veelas, to Merope Gaunt, to Hephzibah (sp?)
