Yes--and I don't want to make it into like a big hierarchy where "my" kind of fan is better (though of course we all instinctively think it's those other people who are crazy). It's just there's this complex relationship between creator and fan and the canon and the fanon, and since I can't do anything about canon I guess I want to give fanon free rein.
