It seems like in fandom you have to also deal with these shadow figures of the characters themselves. Like, there's Hermione in the books and then the running Hermione commentary on t_s that builds on itself. Or like with Snape I like him, but enough "Snape is really a big teddy bear and he's hurting inside because of being picked on!" makes you want him dead.
