Morality isn't supposed to be easy, though. (Bringing back the whole 'right and easy' Dumbledore speech.) It's easy to treat the people you love well (although a lot of characters in the Potterverse don't always manage even that sometimes) but treating the person you hate well is true morality. IMHO. I think people ask a lot of the good characters because...well, they expect them to be good. Goodness isn't like a label that you get applied to you at the start of your life (or the series, in this case), it's a choice you make.
