Oh my God - I never thought about that Bible story, but it is spot on! That's one of the biggest complaints about DH: there were heaps of occurrences in the books before where Gryffindors did the exact same thing as Slytherins but were not called upon it. I thought that simply COULDN'T be chance but must be intended and thus waited for Harry and his friends to realize they had no call for righteousness - but no.
