I wondered if it might not be a Patronus, too. It could just as easily be a peacock. But I did wonder. To me, it could just as easily have been originally designed to be a Patronus, but that idea was abandoned with the new idea that Death Eaters didn't need Patronuses because they work with the creations Patronuses usually fight.
