Happy birthday to
pauraque and
strangemuses!! And I should go ahead and wish a slightly early birthday to
skelkins or I’ll miss that too!
I just saw Purple Noon, the 1960 French version of The Talented Mr. Ripley. And now I'm compelled to compare it to the American version from a few years ago that starred Matt Damon and Jude Law, and particularly wonder why movies are so wed to the idea that crime must never ever pay, even if that’s probably a stupid question. ( Spoilers for The Talented Mr. Ripley, book and film, and Purple Noon within. )
