LOL! Yes, exactly. They're close...and your point? If you're interested in F/G great; there's certainly a lot of interesting things that can be done with the relationship. But since when does being someone's brother make you more likely to have sex with them?
It's a shame really because as I've said before sometimes I do have to admit that shipping can obliterate more interesting dynamics--or just different dynamics. I mean, slash is interesting but so is being twins, so is being old friends, so is being a father/son figure. There's lots of ways that people can connect. Just as you said--why would you want to reduce Harry's more interesting anger at Snape to the idea that he wants to have sex with him (and thus the anger can be dealt with simply through sex).
I remember being shocked after CoS at how everything became about shipping to the point where people seemed to miss the most basic point of scenes--I don't know if this is better or worse in PoA given the overt shippiness. At least that's being read correctly, I guess. But, like, there would be scenes where it was just kind of crazy-like I remember people saying how Draco and Hermione looked at each other a lot and what other reason could there be besides D/Hr? And it was like...errr...that would be the movie's tedious desire to pound us over the head with the race issue. They look at each other when the subject of Mudbloods being killed comes up. I didn't love the way that movie loved playing up the Hermione-as-persecuted thing, but I was amazed it could be missed.
