Oh, that wasn't the finale (thank goodness). The finale is, I think, on 5/25 and it will be 2 hours.

I was thinking the same thing about Kate's crying, because I don't mind Evangeline Lily as an actress. When she was crying in the car I thought she was quite believable. I just didn't care because Kate cries every five minutes, and always for herself. Kate's not only had 3 episodes, but they're pretty much all the same story.

Uh-hu? Except that now everybody suspects two other persons, who might risk not getting a spot on that raft? The twist that Kate had talked Sun into it was the only thing interesting about the episode, since it means she sort of did do it after all. And I won't buy that she didn't have that ulterior agenda for a second.

That's exactly what I thought about the whole thing. Kate talking her into it was at least an explanation for why she did something she didn't seem like she'd come up with on her own, and what is up with nobody caring when other people are Falsely Accused? Jinn had Michael at his throat for burning that raft, and the poisoned water stunt had Sawyer and Michael saying some pretty nasty things. I was kind of amazed when Kate expected Sawyer to apologize for telling her secret when she had, like he said, practically threatened to steal his spot on the raft. Not to mention she really was the culprit in a way. But it's not like she felt she should apologize to him for giving Sun the idea that got him accused. Frankly, Sawyer was right: Kate really does only care about herself. Interestingly, Sawyer was willing to be tortured for something he didn't do earlier, but Kate seems to spend her own life running from punishment and hurting others in the process. Then she still considers herself an innocent victim, like the only behavior that counts is the one she's falsely accused of.

I hope she does have an ulterior motive for telling Sun what to do--the idea of her doing it out of the goodness of her heart is silly. I think she had good reason for not wanting the raft to go, or for leaving with it, and it's typical Kate that she'd manipulate somebody else into doing her dirty work so that she could still be self-righteous about it.
