HA I keep hearing about this new woman that everyone hates. I've been trying hard to stay away from the spoilers and yet I still keep hearing about her.

See, the characters you hate are good for something: they are damn impolite to the other assholes. That's one thing I valued Sawyer for, even when I hated every second he was on screen: he was going to tell the main characters exactly what they didn't want to hear about themselves.
