Unfortunately the racism against Muggles seems completely fine by everyone in the story, save for a few token speeches about treating them well by people who also use magic against them.
I sort of love you for putting it so concisely. I hadn't really thought about Dumbledore's treatment of the Dursley's in that light, but it really does make sense. I think that's actually one of the biggest problems with JKR's works; rotate the perspective just a few degrees and the entire premise sort of falls down. What makes the books good to me, not great. (Although this hasn't stopped me from analyzing them like crazy ^^)
Question: Do you know of any good essays to read about Draco as an anti-hero? I've been wanting to write an essay on it for the past few days and would hate to repeat anything that's already been said on the subject. ^^
