Yeah, I think that sometimes it's maybe even hard to pin down exactly why you have a strong reaction to something. I mean, I'm sure there are some people who have been terribly personal hurt by betrayal who could still see BBM and come out thinking they should have abandoned their families and run off together. Just as there are probably people who cheated or abandoned their own lovers and yet have no sympathy for Jack or Ennis. Other people have less of a personal reaction and are maybe watching the movie from a place a little more removed and bringing their own stuff to it.
The point really sort of seems to be: this happened. What do you think? It's just interesting I've read many negative reactions to the movie (often from people who haven't seen it) who seem to suggest that it's dishonest or shouldn't be shown because it promotes a lie when, as you said, these things happen.
