I guess maybe GoF was his 'last straw' moment? I don't know. My opinion is that before the Third Task, Ron was a little jealous of Harry, because things weren't in perspective for him. He's an immature kid, he's not going to have the sort of reasoning we do. But when he saw Harry come out of the graveyard holding Cedric's dead body, I think that was a big wakeup call for him and made him realise that being Harry Potter isn't all fun and games and adventures. Sometimes being Harry Potter just sucks. Because personally, I saw no sign of Jealous!Ron after that, though those that hate him will find it wherever they look.
