I think, as I said above, that you see a lot of weirdo issues with Ron there--and actually, one of the things that annoys me is that as usual it's being shown as a problem with Ron alone instead of a bigger problem. He's not really trying to protect Ginny from being called names--nobody's ever called her anything and she's not even doing anything so out of the ordinary. He's just freaked out seeing his sister kissing somebody. Which could be about his own problems in feeling inadequate he's also got the whole Weasley-family dynamic that seems to be old-fashioned that way. The Twins are played in their scene as if they're much cooler about it, but really they're giving Ginny the same attitude with even less reason. They're two twin brothers who sell practical jokes and will probably live and die in the same room.
