I should warn you the article isn't particularly flattering! Since I've never read the book I can't speak for how accurate it is, but I suspect it's probably a good deconstruction of what the author is doing regardless. Someone in Carrie's link accuses the essay writer of criticizing Card for being a good storyteller, but I think it's more just analyzing how the author manipulates the audience's sympathy, which all writer's do.
