I forgot about the really great experience I had Saturday morning. I'm walking along Broadway towards 54th street and I look up and whose giant face do I see looking down on me from a building? Samwise! Is there anything nicer to see on a building? Well, yes, there is one thing and that's a giant Frodo, who was right above Sam. I stopped short on the street and grinned up at them like an idiot. This city would look a lot nicer if we put giant hobbits on all the buildings, I think. Btw, that new teaser ROTK poster with Frodo and the neck gash is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. This movie's going to kill me, isn't it.
Needless to say, I now own TTT on DVD, though I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet. I also own a new blow-dryer (hold my hand and we'll leap to a new topic together). It's the best. I know this because InStyle told me so. But also it really is an amazing hairdryer! It's got ionic technology and came with little science-project drawings of hair and water molecules on the box!
Unfortunately, it has also blown out the fuses in my apartment two mornings in a row. Having already gotten attached to it (it dries my hair in SECONDS I tell you!) I refuse to give it back. My roommate said, "Maybe it's the ionics?"
"Why would the ionics blow the fuse?" Mr. Science (me) asked.
"You don't even know what ionics are!" she said. I tried to show her the picture of the water molecules again but she was having none of it.
Hmmph. So for a while there I was having to reset all the clocks after my hair was dry. There just seems something so wrong about missing an ep of Queer Eye because my blow- dryer messed up the VCR. I'll bet Kyan knows all about ionics. I have started drying hair using the air conditioner outlet and that works. I consider it a small victory for personal grooming.
Speaking of Queer Eye, I was not pleased with TV Guide giving a jeer to Jai and suggesting he be dropped.
Also, to show what a little Draco-Mum I am, I read a review of OotP in a magazine and was thrilled that the last line said the school story should get kicked up in the next book due to the "added venom" in Harry's feud with Draco Malfoy. Perhaps Draco really will get a cumulative memory in Book VI. Or is that asking too much?
I have seen three Buddhist monks today. Does that mean something?
