One for Sorrow

I've had a similar reaction to Jules et Jim. It's been ages since I saw it but I remember distinctly that I found it way overrated and that I heartily disliked the woman. Then again, I tend to dislike those bumbling, bossy female characters in general, but I understand that in movies set before female emancipation had really caught on, female characters who stand up to men by being obnoxious might have been considered "strong".
