I had never thought about that before but you're right! And maybe in movies in general you're more likely to have people sitting around wishing their life would get interesting. I remember reading a book on Hitchcock that said how he absolutely loved to punish people for wishing something interesting would happen to them.
Of course SW is a movie, but GL was self-consciously following this stuff. This is why on all those "What race are you?" in Tolkien I'm always a hobbit.
