Good question! And of course you wouldn't always have to turn them straight but you could just have them have a het encounter.
mahoni brought up Willow/Tara too and I tend to think the same way about it in my head, that it wasn't slash on the show, at least. I don't think it would make previous Willow/Tara slash not slash anymore, but would the later stuff be slash? I can't imagine what else you would call it, though in my head I think I might make a distinction.
