Well, considering that Sirius has failed entirely to learn from his mistakes, and cheated death for three years, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if fate caught up with him. In either case, it's a classic case of the world being entirely unfair because hey, no man's an island. And yes. Harry was bloody stupid and deserved what he got, and Sirius did sod all to prevent it.
