yes, that's exactly what i was trying to get at. since i seem to have a post on everything under the sun, here's my own attempt at getting at the different approaches and audience. i think the really interesting parts are the comments where (1) a lot of folksd remind me that it's a continuum and (2) ces, i think, argues that on some level we might be hiding our own fannish pleasure on some level in the pretend litcrit....
