Incessent whining

I flatter myself in thinking I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to personal comfort. When I dream about what it would be like to have lots of money, my tastes are still pretty simple, I think. Okay, not by standards of many places in the world, but I don't think I'm that high maintenance by American standards. I deal with the mice and the occasional cockroach. When the woman next door decides to do her folksinging at 1AM and then watch TV VERY VERY LOUDLY I grab the ear plugs and shove them into my head. When there is no heat in December (like now) and the wind is coming through the little cracks in the walls I put on another sweater, a fleece and leg warmers. But...but...

*breaks down in tears*

I really really need hot water, okay? I really don't like having to be pleasantly surprised when it comes on. I took a dance class tonight and my calves were already sore because I took a week off and then danced a lot on Saturday and was so looking forward to that nice hot shower at home. A hot shower. Not a cool one. Yes, it was an improvement over Saturday morning when it was violently cold, too cold to touch it without causing pain. But it wasn't having hot water. And this kind of makes me want to cry. A lot. My body, apparently figuring that misery loves company, has decided to commence with menstruation.

I had better have hot water when I get up tomorrow or I will..I will...probably cry.
